Dear Community,
Here is the situation on a 1986 Beogram 3300 deck:
The arm lowers when I press "play", except that at the beginning of the disc, the diamond doesnt touch the disc (3 mm too high), and at the end of the disc, the cartridge is very close to the disc, the stylus suspension looks squeezed... As if the rail was not parallel to the deck, but when looking inside the deck, it looks like it is!
Visually:
Is this something you have already seen? I have gone many posts before sending this one, and couldnt find a similar situation... Let me know if you need any clarification.
Thank you for your feedback!

Check that the chrome bars that the moving carriage slides on are pressed into the plastic clips at both ends.

Hi Guys, Ok thanks a lot for your fast responses, I'll check what you are suugesting, although when looking at it and even trying to push the chrome bar without removing the full cover of the deck, it looks in place already...
Hi joeyboygolf and Dillen,
thanks for your advises. I finally saw there was a second chrome bar (a bit hidden under the cover) on which the arm slides, and this one was off the clips. I pushed it back in and it is working perfectly now!
Good job !Don't be a stranger now.
Apologies if this should be a new post, I wasn't sure as it is somewhat related..
My problem is that since fitting a new cord on my beogram 3300, everything works fine except that the slider, when returning to rest position, hits the endstop and vibrates a bit as a result.
I think the 'knot' is in the correct position on the wheel, and I did try adjusting the off-center wheel that the spring on the chord attaches to, but this did not cure it. The tone arm moves and drops to the correct position for LPs and singles- it just is a bit unrefined by hitting the endstop when resting.
Any help much apreciated.
I've had another look over how the slider is running on the metal rail. It appears that it does not actually hit the end-stop, but the tone arm still judders when it comes to final rest after play has finished.
I've checked the metal bar that the slider runs on- it is firmly clipped on at both ends.
