Hi everyone
Just a general question this, I wondered what the general consensus is with regards the reliability of the BeoLab 1? I have read quite a few threads regarding issues with power status, amplifiers, tweeters etc.. Are there common faults that are resolvable - or are the speakers plagued with differing and problematic issues?
I don't know, but I imagine the components are all SMT making repair more troublesome.
Thanks
Until now I've successfully repaired 40+ BL1's. Different faults with tweeters, amplifiers and powersupply's passed by. All fixed.
The biggest challenge will be whenever a woofer itself is broken. That will be hard to solve as there aren't spaceparts available anymore. The tweeter can be repaired.
If you just want to buy a pair, just buy it. Find a BL2 to complete the set and you're ready to go.
Thanks Beobuddy
What faults appear in the tweeters and do you know what causes the problems?
Thanks again!
Most faults can probably avoided by playing not to loud.
Some drive them to pain hearing level with techno music. Then the tweeter is the first to object.
