Thank you Martin,
I will put the plastic piece back where it is supposed to be thus averting disaster. Mine just feel out when I was inspecting the Beomaster 4400 and turned it over.
Jeff
Merely out of sheer curiosity is there an electronic basis/reason why my BeoCenter 9000, with a failing CD-drive capacitor if used daily will play ANY CD, ANY track flawlessly, but let it sit idle for a few days and it gets picky which CD it will play and which track?
From my vantage point the solution to the problem is easy, just use the damn thing, but I do wonder why this happens.
With a dried out capacitor I would have thought the more use the quicker the demise, but at least to the layperson the reverse appears to be the case.
