greetings again from tulsa!
i just brought home a beomaster 5000 system with remote! i bought everything from the son of the original owner and it's all been in storage for the last 20 years or so.
the receiver, remote and beogram 5005 phonograph all appear to work as they should. the cd-50 just cycles opening and closing the door and won't read a cd (printed side down). I'm hoping it'll just need a good cleaning. the beocord 5000 sounds like it needs belt(s) replaced. overall though, i'm very excited to add this system to everything else i have!
A warm welcome to the beoworld forum.
I like the Beosystem 5000. It's great, has a nice tone and is very versatile.
thank you for the endorsement on the 5000 system! I'm a b&o fan for a long time but just started picking up the vintage items. I'm not going to lie, some of the pieces have been rather frustrating to me, but overall, the sound quality and functionality and ESPECIALLY the look of the pieces i have are second to none. I'll be actively picking up more pieces as i come across them!!
best regards!

As far as I can remember the Beovox S 55 were the recommended speakers.
Too bad, I never had the chance to test these speakers.
I have the RL 7000. It works great, but with high volume they shriek a bit.
