Hello everyone,

Today I bought a set of Beovox 3000 speakers.

Once at home I noticed a difference in weight of the speakers.

Putting them on a scale they really have a difference of 0.7kg.

The only difference I noticed is that the tweeter on the one is connected with purple and the other one with white.

Could anyone explain this difference in weight?

I'm only using one as centerspeaker for my Beolab 5000, so I think I got one on spare. Can I make someone happy on the forum?

Regards,

Simon

Different density in wood caused by water/moist?

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

I was thinking about different wood density too, but we're talking about the size of two soda cans of water. The speakers seem to have been stored in a dry place.

Try weighing them without the stands - they look to be made of cast metal and judging by the photos, they are not 100% identical.

Thanks for the input, tried weighing them this morning without stands. Now they differ 0.8kg, 12kg vs 12.8kg.

When I lifted them this morning, I noticed the extra weight below the tweeter. I will check them one more time this evening when I get home. I expect to be a goldbar in there. Stick out tongue

To be continued...

Well... No gold bar, but at least nothing else either. Only difference I've noticed, is that the isolation of box 1 is grey and box 2 more kind of red.

Complete emptied of isolation they were still 12 vs 12,8kg.

Looking at the wooden panels, box 1 got more knacks/knobs (what's the English word?) than box 2.

But could this wood density really make a difference of 0.8kg?!

I think I just should except this case.

Kind regards,

Simon
