Just got my Moment. Could someone with more experience and know-how please help. Spent all evening trying to get the Moment to connect over WISA to BL90. Often it can’t find any speakers. Rarely it finds left channel but right channel not visible to select. Pulling my hair out. Tried factory resetting twenty times. BL90’set to WIRELESS.

Congratulations with your BSM!

Checked my Moment and the BL90 are not on the list for wired connection. Might it be that your complex BL90’s have to be in a different mode? As they have to recognise the WiSa signal from the Moment. In your picture a automatic option show’s, did you try this?

Does your BL90 installation menu give you an idea? Sorry I cannot be of more assistance. Hope you solve it quickly!

I would not run these beasts wireless anyway.

Just get over it....and wire them!

I would first update the Moment software, yours is very old, pre BL 90 for sure.

Mine has the latest for reference:

Unfortunately some have some trouble with the latest code, but some haven’t, like myself.

I’m too scared to update the software. Aren’t the latest problems due to those that have TVs and linked multiple products?

Mine is on the same software and have no problems with it. Just checked and the BL90’s are not in the list. My guess is that the BL90’s don’t need to be on the list due to their own advanced OS. The output on the Moment is either wired powerlink or wisa, so first try to hardwire your master BL90 with powerlink and see how it works. Then try to setup a wireless connection

Hi Millemissen, why would you powerlink and not WISA them please?

Surely, a digital link is better than converting it to analog in the Moment then sending them to BL90 which converts the analog into digital and upsamples into DSP then to the individual poweramps for each driver. An unnecessary conversion from digital to analog to digital then back to analog.

Mine is on latest software too and no problems. The Moment is connected to the TV and uses my BL’s that are wisa connected to the tv.

Indeed update your Moment and first try to wire your master BL90 through powerlink.

And if you don’t update you’ll not receive support from B&O I’m afraid.

There are chances that your BL90 will be pairable with the Moment after the update and you’ll also benefit from the Expert mode where you can control the DLNA updates and avoid continuous harvesting like one of your sceeen is showing and which is a pain with large libraries.

Wow - these are your concerns....personally I wouldn’t mind - but the theory is right ;-)

Having a connection, that makes me sleep well at night, is worth more that some possible differences, that I won’t be able to hear anyway.

(The BL90’es are doing a damn good job, when converting).

And, I do believe, that the most important things about audio are the quality of the recording/mastering and the speakers/the room.

Wise words. Have to ask myself if I’d actually hear the difference between WISA and powerlink to be honest. May be i’m suffering with touch of audiophile nervosa...reliability wins I guess.

Why is the link between the Jukebox and Soundheart so unreliable and why do they struggle to find each other?

Before the latest software update, the Moment was finally rock-solid and reliable in every respect. With the many people that are having huge problems with the latest update, it can't be ignored. The problem that many of us are facing renders the Moment totally unusable. Cross your fingers and roll the dice. The promising news is that Lyle at B&O has advised that B&O will be doing a software rollback until the issues are fixed. However, the rollback hasn't happened yet.

To be safe you have to wire the SoundHeart, a good 2.4GHz WiFi for the Jukebox and no 5GHz WiFi around if possible.

Jukebox may complain about not being able to connect to the SH at startup, you just need to be patient. It may even complain that the DLNA server is unreachable .... which is not true.

If your harvesting seems stuck, don’t hesitate to power off /on the SH

You can check here the status of your Moment:

http://:8080/BeoNotify/Notifications

And you’ll get a page with a lot of information including the status of your harvesting:

{"notification":{"timestamp":"2019-05-17T06:23:06.811636","type":"HARVEST_PROGRESS_INFORMATION","kind":"device","data":{"state":"harvestDone","subState":"moodwheelComplete","progress":100,"deviceUdn":"uuid:55076f6e-6b79-1d65-a414-00089bf11347","deviceIp":"xxx.xxx.cxx.xxx"}}}

Now that you have reached the latest software version, did you manage to pair your 90s ?

Have managed to get the Moment to connect to BL90 and used the WIRELESS RESET button on both speakers whilst the Moment scanned for WISA speakers. Would be good if that were written down somewhere in an instruction manual.

The big problem now is that Jukebox which always sits on the Soundheart takes over a minute to ‘RECONNECT’. During this time the BL90 turns on waits and then times out and then turns off. After waiting ages, the Moment finishes its RECONNECT procedure, is fully awake but the BL90 is no longer on and unable to receive WISA from Moment so there is no sound.

Frustrating and not tested properly....

I expect that you would hear a difference. However, this is not due to the difference between analogue and digital, but because, when used in WiSA mode, only half of the BeoLab 90's room compensation is working.

This is because, in order to get the full effect of BeoLab 90 (and 50's) ARC, both loudspeakers need to receive both audio channels. This happens when you use the analogue and digital inputs, but it is not possible with the WiSA / Wireless Power Link connection.

Yet another reason to stay far away from wireless if you are running high end speakers!

Any downsides to the classic proven balanced XLR Geoff?
