Hi

Apologies if I should've posted this in the general forum or some other place.

I'm in the process of setting up a listening post in the small room where I keep my records. The room is about 15 sqm (4,6 x 3,3 m) and the speakers will be connected to a BM5000 fed by a Beogram 8002. So far I've whittled the contenders down to S35, S45, S45-2, CX100 and C75. Which of these would be your first choice?

As for the S45, there's a pair of 6302 available and from what I've read on here these aren't likely to suffer from foam rot, so they might be in the lead so far.

Any input is appreciated!

One of these days I'm going to have to pick up a pair of these.

Since they were produced in vast quantities, they are easy to come by, and usually quite cheap. So no need to settle on tatty examples. Just check the Philips tweeters are okay.

Harder to find on this side of the pond sadly, at least in good condition. Will keep checking eBay.

Brilliant, S45 it is then. Am I right in assuming both can be wall mounted, AS noen of the ones available here comes with stands.

Cheers!

S45 had two types of resin back and could be wall mounted either vertically or at a slight inclination. I think that the S45.2 had a flat MFD type back.

There was a good thread on this some time ago: search the forum and also check out the archive (top right tab).

Bought a pair of S45 (6302) and got a Beomaster 1900 thrown in the deal. Really pleased with how well they sound together.  Massive thanks for suggesting these speakers over the others on my shortlist! :)
