Hello Fellas,

yesterday I bought a used Beocom 4 off from ebay. As it seemed to work when I picked it up I was surprised it didn't when I connected it to my Internet Router (Fritzbox 7490). The Beocom 4 doesn't connect to its Base Station.

Is there a trick or way to connect the phone to its Base Station or the Fritzbox?

Hi Tim

BeoCom 4 is a standalone DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephone). It will only work with its matched base station. As far as I know it is not possible to pair it to anything else.

Therefore when both are powered and within range they should connect automatically. If the base station is plugged in correctly with the three required cables; App, Line and Power, it should work straightaway.

Regards

Here you can see where the Beocom 4 has to be plugged in:

The connector is located on the side.

Thanks so much. I think I plugged it into FON1 not into the side.

But won't the phone have a connection even when it is not plugged in?

I think the previous owner changed the battery. If that is an important information ;-)

So I had the BeoCom 4 checked by a reseller and he tells me I have to repair it and it costs about 250€. The whole pcb board has to be changed.

Is this really normal? The phone shows all of the functionalities but can't connect to the base station. I think this sounds like a programming issue. Is there a way I can check this by myself if there is really a physical damage?
