I have a BV 7-32 in my Bedroom with HDMI and DVB-HD, can I connect my BV7-40 in the Livingroom to that TV so i have Access to the HDMI Ports and the DVB HD Tuner? The BV 7-40 is a MK I TV without HDMI and DVB HD but I love it´s DVD Player.
Living room: BeoVision 7 MKV + BeoLab 7-2 + 2x BeoLab 8000 + BeoLab 2 + 2x BeoLab 4000Office / guest room: BV 7-32 MKIV / BL7-1; BeoSound Core + TurntableKitchen: BeoPlay M3Bathroom: Gira Radio + BeoLab CelestialEntrance: BeoPlay M3
Unusually you have the 32 with HDMI and the 40 without, had it only been the other way around....
You have the Cinema output (Display 2) connect that to a HDMI converter and run a SCART cable.
FORMAT 0 will then switch between the two displays and you be able to distribute HD video...
Let me know if you get the general idea?
@BEOVOX141
As far as I remember rhe 7-32 with the two HDMI -ins had a VGA-output for the second screen.
Correct me, if I am wrong!
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV

You are properly absolutely right! So something as simple as this might actually do the trick, since HDCP is not an issue. What do you think?
VGA-DVI adaptor
I get your idea. I also have a vga to hdmi Converter lying around and a 10m hdmi cable.
Can I then control the BV 7-32 via the Beo4 from the Livingroom? What is the scart for? Audio?

I have a few of them lying around from earlier on, I guess.
But it won’t help much - VG/DVI carries no sound.....and how about controlling 🤔

VGA is an analog signal - no way to connect to HDMI (which is digital.
Only way (and I would not recommend it) could be use the VGA to a scart converter (connected to one of the scart connections on the 32) and add a sound signal from one of the scart (out) connections on the 7-32.
I see no way to control that from afar.
How about getting a small BVB-HD tv box for the 7-40 instead?

I know, but the original poster mentioned Masterlink so the sound is there, getting it to play might be another matter. I have never had the privilege of meeting a Beovision 7-40 MkI, but I am guessing its possible.
Edit: I did not see your second reply...
Thanks for your Help :-)
I will try a bit with all the possibilities. But I think best is to buy a DVB Receiver for the livingroom. Masterlink is only for audio right?
I have a few of these lying around. https://www.amazon.de/Konvertern-Konverter-Stecker-Adapter-USB-Power-Kabel-VGA-HDMI-3-5mm-Audio/dp/B00S646VV4
They work really good as I use them for business and connecting my beamer to my BV 7-40

Do you mean one like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Converter-FOINNEX-Computer-Projector-Portable-VGA-HDMI-Adapter/dp/B072NCTBVP
I have no experience with those - don’t know how the quality will be.
Maybe worth a try!
However the control issue will stay.

Oh - dann hätte ich ja auf Amazon.de linken können 😉
Try it out, when you alread have one.
However, I’ll stay by my suggestion to use a small tv box directly on the 7-40.
Yes, ML is for audio....and control commands.

The HDMI video is not available on the SCART connectors *), but it should be on the DISPLAY 2 VGA connector, so out from the 32 using VGA then in on the DVI on the 40.. ?
Millemissen:I see no way to control that from afar.
Consider A video linked TV,- I dont see why the same rules would apply?
*) Except for some DVB solutions.. double path inside to circumvent this very issue!

This is from VGA to HDMI,- what would you use that for ?

Good point - didn’t even realize that in the hassle....that 7-40 has no HDMI 🤥

Which probably will be the case here.
I know but I have the gefen switch in the livingroom so HDMI is a good choice for me ;-)
But as this means another hdmi lead in the wall I will go with a new set-top box.
