Hello Beoworlders
Looked thorough manuals, fiddled with the deck. I can't see as there is such an adjustment to change the pick up and particularly the put down drop speed of the arm on the vinyls on a beogram 5500.
This pretty much is the last resort and finishing point dancing with a deck which has had 2 smmc4 collapse on it within hours. The second one actually happened to me so i believed myself whereas i didn't believe my brother when he said the age old chestnut "i didnt do nuffink ,it weren't me ,it just happened..."
So, glad i saw it happening myself. The deck is very well set up even through i do say so myself (sorry ouch,) and later coz i need to be catching a train very soon ,im gonna put videos either here or youtube showing this things.
This is all a big sidetrack as i came down to fix my brothers penta which i did bit they also have sparked a lot of questions so ill be with video and photos of that little scene too. Passive crossovers ,urrghh. I do away with them wherever i can but they still arrive and i need to understand stuff as I'm sort of mimmicking them actively. I'll post pics of this plot too....
Has anyone ever had the requirement to slow the drop speed of an arm? It doesnt really seem to be tje issue but it's anout all that's left. Or coincidentally 2 dodgy smmc4 both bought from new from sound smith in the same order at the same time by me a couple months ago. Theyve both had roughly the same hourage playtimes which isnt much at all. The link is tjey both died on tjis deck.
Need to recap some kit too
Appreciate anyones thoughts in passing. Thanks v much .
