I purchased a beolab 1700 amp back in 1974 I still have the amp and I now intend to bring it back to life it hasn't been used for 35 years I have made a visual inspection of the electronics and have removed the 3 large filter caps 1 looked as if it was ready to pop like a balloon I thoroughly expect to have to replace all the caps, I have some experience in hobby electronics so the physical part soldering ect is no problem but I do need advice on what caps will give me the best sound, and are there any modifications worth considering on the amp I am hoping there will be others on this forum who have already carried out this update/revamp And can point me in the right direction Thanks Dave.. Contact Martin (Dilan) he will have a kit to restore it back to glory. I still have mine that I bought new in the 70s and it still sounds great.
Plus upgrade to silver or gold and then you have access to the manuals.

Thanks Keith that's just the advice I was hoping for. Can't wait to have it all up and running, a empty house (very rare) and dark side of the moon.
Dave..
I also have the Beomaster 1700 tuner, plus my original Beogram 1202 ( refurbished motor bearings) and my original Beovox 1702, not the best but not bad, all I could afford at the time, never had a tape deck but I use a Beogram CDX with it now.
Good choice of record, I also like Wish You Were Here
I also have the 1700 tuner and the 1202 turn table both purchased recently, I intend to fully overhaul these items as well but I am just taking it one at a time, I originally used the amp with a goldring lenco gl75 and celestion County speakers it sounded superb, the turntable and speakers bit the dust years ago .
