Dear Forum,

I bought a cheap Beoplay A8 off eBay.

Can use it with phone using headphone out to RCA.

But no other Connection can be uses.

Network AND Power button lights are both flashing.

So the reset procedure shown at http://bogo.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6989/~/how-do-i-reset-beoplay-a8-to-factory-settings%3F does not work.

As this guide suggests.

Press the network button shortly and wait until it becomes solid white, orange or flashes orange continuously.

This never happens... just flahsing red continously (after flashing white from the moment I press the nNetwork button).

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue??

Thanks for any ideas.

Ralf

Got a reply from BeoCare today:

"for you've already tried a fatory reset without success, you BeoPlay A8 should be checked in service. Please contact your dealer for further assistance."

Not what I was hoping for... but what I expected.

Ordered a Bluetooth adapter to connect to the RCA inputs.

Will let you know how this works out.

If it's flashing red and will only work with the dock or back input, then your wifi module is defective.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Thanks for your input!

Can this easiliy be repaired on a module basis - kind of swapping parts?

Any idea how much this might cost?

It's not really practical from a cost perspective in my mind. Unless you find another bum A8 on eBay with a known not defective WiFi portion.

I got an Aukay Bluetooth Receiver + Smart-Planet USB OTG (on the go) to Mini USB - Adapter-Cable USB Host and everythings runs nicely....

Power for the Bluetooth adapter comes from the USB port.

So I can send audio via Bluetooth just fine!

No luck with mine.

But using it with bluetooth dongle works just fine.

No use for the dock though.

Best regards
Ralf
