Hi - I have a beovision 11 which I bought ex-display from a dealer who told me that it was only about 3-6 months old (and I trust him, I think).

However, the serial number starts 24, which all the serial number guides imply means it's from 2012.  However, I'm confused as the serial number for the BeoRemote One which came with it (and has only been available for about a year) also starts with 24, so have the serial numbers changed?

How would I go about finding out the MK of e beovision 11 as this might help me too.

Many thanks,

Gareth.

Welcome to Beoworld.

If you supply the complete serial number, a member here will be able to tell you.

Dave.

A 24****** Serial Number is very recent.  I'd say with some certainty that your TV is under a year old.

Thanks Lee (and Dave).

any idea what's changed since this:

http://beophile.com/?page_id=18728

list then which identified 24 as 2012? (Just out of interest).

But this says that a serial number starting 24 is from 2012.  So I'm nov very confused as you say that it's under a year old(?)

As the number 1 B&O reseller in the UK (if not globally), Lee knows what he's talking about.  Looks like your dealer/seller was OK.

Info on the internet isn't always correct - we have errors in the 'Products' section as do Beophile.

Dave.

If you don't have WISA it's MK1.

If you have WISA it's MK2.

If you have easy removable speaker cloth (and WISA) it's MK3.

If you don't have easy access (USB, HDMI, jack) on the back it's MK4.

Thanks BeoGreg - very hand!

Easy is relative :) - what does easy/difficult access on the back look like in the case of the beovision 11?

thanks again - last question on this topic!

On the Mk4 BV11's there is no small click out panel for easy access to USB / and audio ports. This panel is located on the back, center, behind the top edge of the frame on Mk3 and below. On the Mk4. There is no easy access panel, there is no panel at all.

Here's a pic (bad taken right now on the dark) of back panel on top of tv.

Ok, thank you.  They must have started to use 24 for many years then as mine doesn't appear to have the easy access panel.  Thank you again.

Back in the days when B&O were selling lots of products the 'one year, new double-digit serial prefix' model worked.

However, since around 2010 they haven't sold as much but kept to the rolling serial number model - so it's taken them longer to 'fill up' the serial number run, which has seen say 22****** and 23****** take up 14-18 months as opposed to the old 12 month cycle.

Numbers are starting to churn again now though, thanks mainly to the Play products - and things should start to return to normality on the serial number front!

Sold to retailer (Dealer) in June 2007.

She's an old girl - a Mk1 720p, so not even Full HD.

Still a lovely TV though Smile
