Does anyone know if the H8 earcups are compatible with the H8i headphones?

The "i" letter refers to the iPhone compatibility with is related to the wiring of the 4 pins jack, Android devices having a different wiring for the mic/control feature. So anything above the wire should be the same, including ear pads.

https://www.bang-olufsen.com/de/accessories/beoplay-h8-cushions    49 €

wow,... I think Beozip is the only one who understood what I was talking about. I did notice the price difference, which is why I was curious.

Not sure how the jacks are related to the physical design of an object. I'm still kind of lost as to what kind of explanation matador was getting on about.... but I guess I'll have a go at simplifying my questions.

If you take off the earcups of the BeoPlay H8 headphones, will they attach correctly on a pair of BeoPlay H8i headphones?

I think your question was perfectly understandable and it was just my mistake.

I'm used to sennheiser wired headphones, like PX100 or HD-30 which exists in "i" version.

The standard version works with android phones, the "i" version works with Apple devices because their wiring are different.
You cand listen to music with both but you can't use the mic on the cord if you dont have the correct version. Appart from that the headsets are the same.

I was trying to help sharing something with had piss me off in the past, forgetting you were talking about a BT headphone.
After Beozip comment, I realize the headphones were physically different hence my comment and my apologies.

Hope i've clarified my first comment.

When you look side by side the H8i looks a little bigger than the H8 Confused

but maybe someone or a dealer had both and can correctly answer your questions Idea

good luck Smile

Beozip.... interestingly, the article about the H9 and H9i seems to show they are exactly the same size, but with the same price difference.

You right though,... i guess only someone with both models can actually verify if this is possible.

Time to wait if I get an answer, or if this post is doomed to page 10 or beyond hahaha

H9 & H9i are almost the same device, but H8i is a mix of H4 + H8 parts if you look at it closely, so I wouldn't swear the cups are identical...

Got my H9i's in this week. Tried switching the thicker H9 earcups on,  and it was no-go. The tabs that slide into the groves seem to be thicker on the H9i earcups. I suspect the same with the H8 vs H8i's. Still not sure why the H9i's are more expensive when they're physically thinner. Anyway,... I guess you can call this thread resolved?

Of insignificant addition to this thread: you can use the thinner H7 pads on H9s but the orientation is slightly different and it noticeably changes the sound.

Hello good afternoon.

The speaker of Beoplay H8 is dynamic and those of Beoplay H8i are electrodynamic, but the diameter of the two is 4mm. They are not the same. However, the Beoplay H4 are electrodynamic and have the same diameter of 4mm.
