I bought a used beocenter 2500 which the keypad does not work. All the buttons don’t work?

It seems to work fine with a remote.

And the display works, just the buttons are all not responding to being pressed.

When plugged in there is a red dot on the screen that means there is power. But there is a green dot next the the red not sure what that means?

Thanks

hi,

welcome to Beoworld! I think that the green light indicates a timer has been set. To clear it, press the mute button to see if it goes out. That should restore things.

Hi Bill thanks I tried to press the mute button but that did not work.

None of the buttons on the front panel seem to work.

Is there a way to reset the unit?

Have a look at this thread, where I have commented about repairing the buttons on my BC2300.

Although the main difference was that just a few of the buttons were not working.  In your case, the problem could be with the ribbon connector between the keypad and the rest of the system.

I have a spare Beosystem 2500 front panel that you can have.  It's not perfect, but certainly presentable. to replace it you have to gently remove the glass doors, remove the black plastic panels, and then unscrew the front panel.  There are a number of connectors that need to come off, and the clamper rod, but it's pretty simple.  If you send me a dm (click on my name and then in the middle of the page you'll see a link for send an email) you can send me your info.
