Hi All,
I've just bought an LC2 on eBay. It was sold as 'spares or repair', as the previous owner could not test it, so I had low expectations!
It's actually in very good condition and the touch functions, which I was most expecting to have problems with, work perfectly. I can't get it to work with my Beo4, however.
I've read through the LC2 manual, which is based on older remotes. Pressing LIGHT-LIGHT doesn't turn the light on, and pressing LIGHT-STOP doesn't switch it off. My hope is that the LC2 has been configured for a complex setup and needs resetting to defaults, but I can't work out how to achieve this with a DTV Beo4, (the manual refers to a 'GOTO' button, which is certainly not a key or LIST item on my Beo4).
I'd be grateful for any pointers or advice anyone could offer. Is it possible that the LC2 is broken and simply won't receive Beo4 commands?
Regards,
Simon.
Afaik you can`t disable ir reception for LC2. Pressing LIGHT - LIGHT or LIGHT - GO should activate your light.
LIGHT - 1-9 should activate different light levels or scenes.
LIGHT - GOTO on BL1000 is the same command as LAMP on Beo4.

Stefan,
Thanks for your reply. I'll try again with the Beo4 keys, but it sounds to me like the IR reception is faulty.
Has anyone managed to repair a similarly-broken LC2?
Thanks, Peter; PM sent!
Because you bought this item 'for spares or repair' clearly the seller knew that it wasn't working completely, so you should have expected it not to work properly although you do say however that your expectations weren't high.
I think repairing these is possible, but only by someone who really knows what they are doing. An obvious statement I appreciate.
I've got a couple where the IR feature packed up and would no longer respond to the Beo4 so I'd be interested in responses regarding repair.
In the absence of any repair, looks like you're stuck with a basic touch on/off switch or an attractive paperweight!
Hi, that manual for the Beo4 would be very nice!!
Try replacing the big electrolytic cap, that is usually the culprit on a LC2.
There is an instruction on the site somewhere. worked for me!
Another thing to look out for,- there is actually a minimum load requirement, so running a e.g. a 5W Dimmable LED bulb will not work properly, if at all!
