Hi

Has anyone else noticed that videos on YouTube (at least on the YouTube app on beovision 11) uploaded  from about the beginning of August 2019 onwards don’t seem to play correctly?

For me they seem to play the sound correctly but the video stops (even while the sound continues) and then it may even stop playing altogether and go back to the YouTube home screen.

Has something changed at YouTube that can affect them being played on the YouTube app on BV11?

I can play any older videos as expected, it’s only freshly uploaded ones that don’t play correctly.

Col

if you place the cursor in the video window and right click, you can see the video type under "stats for nerds"  Smile

Hmm, I’ve checked the stats on a failing newer video as well as a working older video and it shows the same formats and codecs etc so the stats shows nothing obvious.

I can still watch a failing newer video using my firestick youtube app so the video itself isn’t an issue.

I would show the comparison photos of the two stat screens but this editor doesn’t seem to let me upload them.

Any more suggestions?

Thanks

Col

https://IMGUR.com/upload  > upload  image > Copy paste into editor.

I tried this morning and did see two different formats...

Would you mind sending a link to a newly uploaded video that works for you so I can try it.

Here’s an example of a recently uploaded one that doesn’t work for me: https://youtu.be/NStTiBjJTAY and can you upload a screenshot of the stats that you’re seeing on your tv YouTube app.

I don't know if it's related but it happened from time to time with app showing Youtube content. Long time ago it was with the Youtube App just before they stopped it. Closer to us it happens with the youtube add-on in Kodi which can't be updated to last version du to hardware limitations: some videos plays well some more recents ones just pops an error.

I am not using TV apps at all for this very reason. To me it looks like your BV11 Youtube app is missing the VP09 codec or the BV11 hardware isn't capable of running it

How about trying  "ChromeCasting" the content to the TV and see what happens. TV apps are (un)fortunately completely out of my competence area Smile

The newer videos work fine via Amazon firestick so I might need to use that for any newer videos if need be then.

Is it worth highlighting this to B&O? Would they consider applying a fix?
