G'day,

some weeks ago I added some wonderful BL4000 to my (beloved) BV8-40 and got a new sound experience :-).

So I decided to buy a Playmaker and connect it by using the Beolink Converter 1611 via Masterlink (I read some threads here how to do it). Don't have any other audio master.

I put the BeoVision 8-40 into V.OPT2 and the Playmaker to A.OPT5. The PM is connected via RJ-45 to AAUX cable to the 1611 (V 1.3). I can select A.AUX, CD oder A.MEM and the BL4000 (connected to BV8-40) turn on. If I start a stream (Apple Music on iPhone XS) I get a loud plop on the BL4000 and then just some undefined noise. No music.

I also tried with a powerlink cable to the 1611 - also just some noise. When I connect PM directly to the BL it works perfectly.

Whats wrong? Is it the adaptor cable? Or the Playmaker (V 1.00.2485 2012-09-11)? Or the BV8-40?

I'm running out of ideas,

Max

Try the Playmaker in A.OPT 0.  I don't think that you want it to respond to IR codes in this setup.

Already tried that. No go. Always "plop" and just noise...

(In my old apartment at founding times I had a wonderful Avant/LX link setup that was working without that "modern streaming/iphone" stuff - everthing was working perfectly. But now - modern times - I'm f***ed up) ;-)

In that case I would suspect the RJ45 to A.AUX cable.  Are you sure that it is an output, rather than input?

The dealer said so... "Connect your Playmaker to...". If you have a recommendation what cable to use and where to buy .... I will be thankful ;-).

I already tried to converters... Angry

Finally I want to stream without ATV - using Playmaker - I connected PM directly to the BL and started "A New Error" from "Moderat"... want to enjoy that without re-plugging cables ;-).

You can't go wrong with cables from our site sponsor, such as: https://soundsheavenly.com/playmaker-and-essence-wireless-streaming/84-378-rj45-to-aux-input-cable-airplay-on-your-bo-system.html#/9-length-18m

I gave up in frustration with my Playmaker and now use an Airport Express into my BC9500!

Unfortunately the cable did not work. I don’t get sound from Playmaker via 1611 to my BV8-40.

I think I will give up Playmaker...

Hello everybody,

the 1611 may be defective. Had that problem as well some time ago. Same result. No sound. After replacing with another one, everything was fine again. There's little reported on here about the issue, but the 1611 is quite vulnerable.

Cheers,

Kai
