I hope you can help. My problem sounds generic, but I struggle to find a solution....
I have two Beolab 1, one beolab 2 and two beolab 8000. I want these to be driven by two sources:
1) my Samsung smart TV (with smart blueray player)
2) my Samsung pad from which I control streaming music.
Does the B&O Core do the job or is there a better solution. What cables do I need between the speakers and the control unit (core, etc)?
hope you canhelp and hopefully this will also help others.
Arno
Hi Arno,
Yes, I can help! Basically, you have three options if you wish to use the speakers with a non-B&O TV:-
1) Connect two Beolab speakers to the headphone socket of the Samsung pad or TV for stereo sound, with volume control from the TV remote, or
2) Connect the pad and TV and all of the Beolab speakers to a Beosound Core for stereo sound through all speakers, with volume control from the B&O remote, or
3) Add an external AV receiver with pre-out sockets (expect to pay from around £500 GBP in the UK) to allow all of the speakers to be connected for full surround sound with control from the receiver remote control.
I can help with cables for any of the above options. If you can please let me know your preferred option, I will be pleased to advise on the cabling required.
Kind regards, Steve

Hi Steve,
thank you for the fast reply, very helpful.
on solution 2, does the B&O core access my music files that I have in my NAS drive? If so what app do I use on the pad to then control what songs get played etc? The key is that the TV does not act as the app, the TV is off and hidden whilst listening to music only.
Once the TV is switched on it comes out and then feeds the sound to the B&O speaker via B&O core, but TV volume is controlled by TV remote or B&O remote or can that be combined?
many thanks
This Beoworld thread may help you regarding using a NAS drive with the Core: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/36207/269496.aspx
The TV sound would play into the Core, then you would use the TV remote (if the TV has a headphone output) or the Core app (if the TV has an optical output) for volume control.
Kind regards, Steve.
very helpful, thank you. hopefully I can return the favour once I figured it all out and need cables....
