Dear Beoworld,

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice.

I am looking at purchasing a Beocord 5500, with the hope of recording some tapes from my Mac.

Could anyone let me know if this is possible with the 7-pin connector and if so what adapter would be required.

When playing back I hope to connect to the beoplay a8 (active speaker)

Thank-you for any help

I use the input jack in the drawer of the tape deck. I use a 5pin din male to rca cable connected a DAC connected to the computer via USB or the 5pin din to Rca cable connected to (I needed a male to male rca adapter in between here) to a rca to 3.5mm cable to the computer directly. But I think Steve at sounds heavenly has a din to 3.5mm that would be cleaner solution.

To connect to the A8 you’ll need a female din to rca cable. If you buy a female din to 4rca you could use that also as your input from the computer via the 2 inputs. Don’t buy a cheap cable, they are usually wired wrong for this application.

I have looked at the info about the din cable - and I thought this might be an acceptable solution.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Charles
