Hello!
This is my first post here. I have just bought a B&O Mini 510 RG radio from around 1950. I didn't expect it to work, but the tuner, amplifier and speaker works great. Even the vacuum magic eye works (but is very dim).
The gramophone does not work. It have several problems and I don't think I'll fix it. But it could be nice to connect a more modern audio source to the old radio.
Does anyone know what signal the gramophone sends to the amplifier? The connector from the gramophone to the amplifier is an weird 3-pin connector that I can't any info on. But it would be nice to be able to connect a 3,5 mm jack to that input instead. Does anyone know if that's possible?
(The connector is like the grey one in the picture, but without the split round pin).
Hi and welcome to the Beoworld,
very nice find, your Mini 510 RG! Congratulation
The grey plug on the picture is the stereo version gramophone plug (comes probably from latter devices as the stereo came latter).
Your plug (without the cut in the pin) is the mono version of the plug. You can of course make an adapter for the 3,5 mm jack and use this for the other music sources. Try to contact Martin Olsen (forum member Dillen) how has these plugs occasionally. I bought few from him in the past.
You can look to his web page beoparts.com and contact him directly.

I looked to the Martins webpage and in deed he has mono plug for gramophone for sale. Look here.
Buy yourself one of those and make a simple adapter. Do not use the original plug, maybe you will get your record player runing again in the future
Thank you for the great answers! And for the link to an extra connector. I'll look into getting another and keeping the gramophone original.
I guess the two outer pins are positive and negative for the audio signal and the middle is ground or shielding? Does the old gramophone produce the same signal as the one coming from a 3.5 mm jack?
My plan is to take a 3.5 mm jack cable, convert it to mono using resistors and then connect it to the gramophone input on the amplifier. I can then connect a Chromecast Audio, making the ancient radio up to date.
But I really don't want to damage the amplifier. I'm afraid the signal from a modern device is too powerful for the old amplifier, but I haven't gut a clue
