Hello, music lovers!
My system suddenly lost touch with the link rooms, which are connected via the little grey boxes. I don't know what they are called, and can't find them in products section here. They have been working well for years.
At first, I noticed the problem last week when the redeye panels that are connected to the gray boxes shut down after ten seconds. So, first the sound came on - radio, record player, tapes - everything started, and then shut down. Today, all that happens is that the right redeye on the display blinks, and nothing starts.
Sorry about the untechnical vocabulary, and I hope that someone can help.
Hopefully

Hi Lennart,
I think you may have a Master Control Link system because the description does not sound like Masterlink. What is your Beomaster? This will help people try to assist you.
With Masterlink it is usually suggested you turn everything in the system off at the power socket (unplug if not a switched socket) and then power back on. This often resets the system.
Good luck

My system is BM7000, with tape recorders, BG7000, and a BV7-40, and three sets of speakers in different rooms, plus, actually, a VCR, and as I replied in my other thread, I am interested in the junction box, if it is the genuine B&O product. Appreciate your help here.
Hi,
You have a hybrid MCL/Masterlink system where the older MCL has been updated via a Beolink convertor to connect to your TV which is Masterlink.
Hopefully I have answered your question in the other thread
The connection is gone again, at least my Beolink 7000 says so; when I press e.g. Radio, the mute lamp on the panel blinks, the box between that and the speakers clicks. This is really getting on my nerves.
I am no electrician, but the fact it works initially and switches off after a short time makes me think component failure. Have you tried disconnecting one of the boxes and just trying one at a time? You might be able to isolate the problem. I too run a hybrid MCL/ML system.with four connected rooms. I use a variety of powered and passive speakers.

Not being home at the moment, I am in no position to verify your analysis. Furthermore, the screw terminal i have used for connections is the only place where the boxes can be disconnected, as far as I can see. Stoobletoo suggested using a junction box instead, since connecting and disconnecting those extremely thin wires is difficult, and I wonder if using a junction box instead would make for a more stable connection, especially since I am about to connect my new 3500 to the system via powerlink, which will obviously involve connecting three outgoing MCL cables to the plinth.
