Hi,
I have a pair of BeoLab 8000 connected to the preouts of a Marantz NR1607 that works well. I also have a pair of BeoLab 6000 that I would like to use as rears for surround sound but I don't know how to go about it.
Is there any way I can connect the 6000 to the rear surround speaker terminals on the NR1607?
The manual of the receiver can be found at https://www.marantz.co.uk/DocumentMaster/UK/NR1607N_ENG_PDF_UG_v00A.pdf and page 8 details the rear panel.
Thanks in advance.
Liam
it's not that simple. The BL6000s are powered (they have their own internal amplifiers) so you can't just connect them to the speaker outputs. There are some devices out there that can step down the speaker outputs so you then use the BL6000s. Steve at Sounds Heavenly can help you out.
Thank you. I'm familiar with powered speakers so knew it wasn't straight forward. Having looked at Heavenly Sounds it looks like I need the attenuated converter kit.
Thanks again.
Hi Liamba,
Welcome to Beoworld! Yes, as this receiver just has front, subwoofer and "zone 2" pre-outs, you will need the attenuated converter to use a pair of Beolab 6000s as rear speakers, via the red and black speaker terminals of the receiver.
You can connect two speakers to the red and black speaker terminals on the back of the receiver using this special Attenuated Converter:-
https://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/33-power-amplifier-to-beolab-line-in-attenuated-convertor-kit.html
You can then use this cable to connect the speakers to the output sockets of the Converter:-
https://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/6-30-av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-rca-line-in-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m
Please ask if you need any further help!
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.
