Hi Alls,
Working on my brother in law's Beosound 9000 made me realize how much noisy the carriage was on mineand how beautiful can be a silent movement. So I decide to do something about that.
The first cause I see is that the aluminium strip that runs along the wire cable in the groove is broken. To me that is the sound I hear, like an aluminum foil scratching. I'll take care of that.
The second cause I suspect are missing pieces: in mine, there is the metallic cage and into it, the ribbon wire. The service manual says "Remove the plastic strip over the well containing the ribbon cables and the wires by lifting up the strip." in the disassembly process. I dont have any plastic strip.
Then my questions are:1- If this plastic strip helps to contain the noise, do someone have a picture or can roughly tell me how it looks like and maybe how I can replace it (like with any plastic strip cut to size)?
2- Is there any other piece missing, like teflon strip under the ribbon wires or spacer. Again, I just have the wires and the cage and nothing else, just like the picture attached.
To clarifie, the scratching noise is here with or without discs.
Thanks for any comments and help.
