Hi people,

I just jumped on the beo boat recently and it was a trap really - I simply wanted to re-new my turntable and suddenly found myself having a beosystem 5500 which is just as fun as an old Mustang with the trunk opened every morning!

I have a question and will be very much grateful if someone can help: having two beocords, beogram CD (not yet working though) and beogram connected to my beomaster 5500, there is no more input left. How can I connect an Aux without connecting an ugly cable to the front panel of the beocords?

Question 2: I need an output off the beomaster at line level to connect to my valve amp. Beomaster 5500 has PRE AMP output but having speakers connect there is no room to connect the RCA plug, any ideas?

Thanks,

Arta

Question 2  first: U=You could simple replace the speaker connectors with smaller ones, like these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Small-Loud-Speaker-Din-Plug-10mm-x-10mm-for-Car-Stereo-Radio-Screw-Terminals-B9/202658741899?hash=item2f2f66fe8b:g:F0kAAOSwMNxXY~E6

First question:  You probably want to keep the 7 pin datalink connections so that you can control the Beograms/Beocords with your remote, hence ideally you should look for a B&O aux expander/switch - they were mentioned in this thread: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/7280/65059.aspx

And welcome to Beoworld!

Actually, these speaker plugs would be better as they are the solder type (assuming you have a soldering iron!), plus the cable exits in the correct orientation for your BM5500: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BKL-0205002-DIN-Speaker-Female-Plug-Solder-Terminal/112818785509?hash=item1a44860ce5:g:McoAAOSwLYdahsPO

Guy - thank you very much and sorry for not replying earlier . I was wondering why no one answered my questions as I expected to receive an email notification (my mistake!)

The diagonal DIN connectors look very appropriate. Knowing B&O being almsot perfectionist in designing I very much wonder why they have not used diagonal DIN ports for their 7 pin connectors.Very much surprising!
