Hi guys,
My Beosound 9000 being now up and running, I'm facing the choice of the discs to display (keeping in mind that all my CD's are stored far away and I'm mostly listening to digital music, but you can't keep the slots empty!).
Anybody owning a BS9000 should knows the demo CD set featuring various music styles (conteporain, classic, jazz). But I find the tracks a little bit "outdated" or not consistent.
So I'd like to create our own B&O, Beoworld BS9000 demo 6 CD SET!
The goal would be to create 6 CD's, closer to today's musical production but also including old classic tunes, maybe inspired by the "what are you listening right now" thread which is a gem to me, and either create a new 6 pack artwork or reuse the old CD set Artwork. Then, burn, print, stick, place. Anyone being responsible to collect tracks by itself in due respect to copyright laws.
I will place a second post following that one and declare it as "answer" to make it sticky on the top, and then update it following thread answers, if any :-)
To me each disc should be style centric, the random function allowing to mix them if needed…
I propose the following as a starting point but open to any suggestions (references are just to clarify styles).
1-Classical (speaks for itself…)2-Jazz/Fusion (from Getz to Maalouf)3-Pop/Rock (Pink floyd, Barclay James Harvest to Coldplay…)4-Electronic (Daft Punk, M83, Nigel Staford, ATOEM…)5-Folk (Voices: Kathy Melhua, Courtney Marie Andrews, Laura Gibson, Susanne Sandford…)6-Other (I dont know!: Glass, Einstürzende Neubauten…)
Writing it, I find it may need a "movie music" disc, but it could also be distributed over styles.Or maybe a technical distribution like Bass, Voices, Sparkling highs, Filling mediums… I don't know.
I can handle the Artwork and distribute it as printable PDF along with sticker label reference for easy production. So far I've seen two existing designs:- The one with painted singer, piano, sax, guitar etc, in two versions (See Discogs).- The second with pictures of the BS9000 different placement options.
We can reuse the first or make a new one (I've been thinking to different Beogram's platters but maybe it's too much mixing, and silver may not render well printed on paper…
Anyway, waiting for suggestions and input from everybody and hope this post to be successful.
All the best.

Yes they are. I particularly like the BS3 one.
