Good afternoon folks,
Let me start by saying im not an audiophile but have recently inherited a set of Beolab 8000 speakers as well as the Beosound 9000 system. These belonged to my inlaws who have moved house and given us there old house. However when he installed the Beosound the guy that did it put it on the wall and concreted the cables in!
The Beosound has stopped working it randomly switches on and off and changed functions by itself. Given that these days we dont use the cd player or radio as 99% of what we listen to is Spotify id really like to use the speakers wirelessly if thats possibly and bypass the Beosound completely.
I bought a small bluetooth reciever that while it does the job the volume coming out the speakers is slightly higher than normal speaking levels so really no good if you are trying to play some Pink Floyd full blast!
So basically here I am trying to see what my options are as I dont want to buy a new stereo when the speakers I have are some of the best sounding speakers I have ever heard. Does anyone have any experience using these speakers wirelessly to stream without having to use the beosound?

Not being an audiophile is a good starting point, when it comes to B&O.
Because then you can concentrate on getting decent sound in an easy way.
I assume that the cables are still accessable (since you tried connecting a BT receiver)…..is that correct?
You need something that is a bridge between the Beolabs and e.g. a BT receiver - this is called a preamp.
Best way to do this, would be to get a BS Core or a preused BS Essence 2nd gen - both would give you access to Spotify (Connect), Airplay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth and to Netradio stations.
These are relatively small boxes, that should be easy to hide away - there are no controls on these boxes.
You simply connect the cables from the BL 8000’s (you’d need a small adapter) and set it up with the Bang & Olufsen app. It can be controlled in multiple ways - using the app, using a beoremote or simply be streaming from an app on your mobile device.
It is possible to make a setup where the BL8000’s are wireless - this however would require a set of B&O WiSA receivers and a WiSA Transmitter, where the sending device ( a Chromecast dongle, a Airport Express or any modern audio system) is connected.
P.S. It could be worth it to investigate, if the BS9000 can be repaired. In case it is working (again) you simply could connect a Bluetooth device, a Chromecast dongle, an Airplay receiver….. to it (using the A.Aux port there) and this way listen to whatever you send to that device. Volume control is easily handled with the Beoremote.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
