Amongst a bunch of stuff I bought a couple of months ago, there was a small packet that includes a stylus which I think is for the Beocentre 3500.  It looks like it might have been bought as a spare, but never used.  Is there a way to tell?

If you don’t have a microscope to inspect the tip, you can tell by listening. Usually a dull sound, with recessed treble, means that the diamond tip is worn out.

Thanks for yourr reply.

ok, so visual inspection should be able to tell me.  Is there a reference image anywhere of what it should look like?
