Does anyone know where I can buy the multi cable for connecting a regular amp to the S8/ BL14?

I have managed to throw mine, and the store wants 75€ for a new one Sad

Hi Leo,

Which model of amp and you using and how many satellite speakers do you have with the BL14/S8 system please?

There may be a cheaper way to connect the speakers to give better sound quality than using the VGA-type cable......

Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Steve,

I have 4 satellites and a BL7.4 I would like to use.

I am planning on buying a atmos amp with 7.2/5.1.2 surround

Was thinking the cheapest option would be a regular amp as the preamps are more expensive.

Hi Leo,

An AV receiver with pre-amp outputs is by far the best option here, as it makes it easier and cheaper to connect Beolab speakers if you add to the system in the future.

I would suggest looking at the Pioneer SC-LX59, Denon AVR-X3600, Yamaha RX-A880 or RX-V785 AV processors/receivers, all of which have audio pre-out sockets for easy connection of Beolab speakers for a Dolby surround sound setup.

These receivers don't need the expensive "VGA" type cable for Beolab 14/S8, as the speakers can connect directly to the pre-out sockets with these cables:-

Please let me know which receiver you choose and I will be pleased to help with cables.

Kind regards, Steve.

Thank for good information, Steve.

With these amplifiers, will I be able to connect Beolab 4000s also?

What kind for able would I then use? I guess they will have to use the trigger output from the ampler to stay on during silent parts of movies?

Hi Leo,

Yes, you can add any Beolab speakers (except 2000 and 3500) with any of these amps.  There is no need for a trigger for Beolab 4000 speakers, changing the surround sound format and settings on the receiver is generally the easiest way to keep all speakers working during quiet movies or news broadcasts.

Kind regards, Steve.

Ok, so I will not have problem with the speaker clicking on and off?

Do you have any input on combining Beoplay s8 4.1 with Beolab 7.4 and 4x beolba 4000? Or would it be better to go with a 2 x Beolab S8 systems?

Leo, did the S8 actually have to option to use the D-SUB cable?

Anyway, I took note of which pin corresponded with which channel before installing my BL14. I have that diagram lying around somewhere. DM me if interested.

Just wanted to throw that option out there. But to be honest, if I had a larger room, and the funds for an decent pre-amp, i'd probably go that route too.
