Hi. First of all, congratulations on all the knowledge you demonstrate in this forum.
I have had a Beovision 10-46 for years that works very well. Now I would like to add some affordable B&O speakers. Maybe some classic or vintage... What speakers do you recommend to complete the sound of the BV 10?
The sources I use are Digital Television (Netflix, etc), Apple TV and a Dune bluray and hard disc.
Obviously I am looking for the best value for money... I can't dream of beolab 50.
Thanks for your advice!
Beovision 10-46, Beocenter 1, Beo 4, Beocom 4, Beolit 12, Beosound 4, Beosound Essence, Beolab 6000
Based on my experience if you get either the beolab 8000, beolab 6000 or beolab 3 series which are the lowest cost options you can buy used, you would need subwoofers will all of them! I have owned all of these speakers and they all need subwoofers without doubt. For the beolab 8000 and 3 you can use the BL 2 which is also available at a decent price used. However, the BL 2 are too powerful for the beolab 6000, for that you can use a BL 11. I have it set up mine with the BL 11, but they are not very good subs for movies.
I have also owned multiple generations of both the 8000 and 6000 series of speakers because I love their design. I found a significant difference in sound quality of the speakers I bought in 2010 and those that I bought in 2004. The 8000 and 6000s I bought in 2004 were both damaged by late 2009. The 8002 and 6000s I bought in 2010 are still performing like new. The bass also seems better.
However, your best bet is to get a new Beosound Stage since you will get the full Atmos audio experience with your Apple TV. If it we me, I'd get the Stage, but I am not sure it will look as nice as the BeoLab 8000/6000 with BL2 set up. The BL 3 on floor stands can look good too.
Used BL 9s are competitively priced as well.
My 2 cents worth :)

Veermer has a BV10 - how should he use a BS Stage with that?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
He said he is using Apple TV. My guess is that we would connect the Apple TV to the Stage and Stage to BV10? I don't have a BV 10 so no idea if it has an HDMI interface or not.
Thank you both for your responses.
I think the soundbar needs hdmi-arc, and the BV-10 doesn't have it. It is not like this?
I like the idea of ββthe beolab 8000, especially for aesthetics, although I had not considered the need for the subwofer.
Do you think the beolab 9 doesn't need to add a subwofer? Thanks again.
Hi,
I've enjoyed a BV10-46 in my living room until I got a new Eclipse last summer. It was paired to a couple of BL6000 and sound was gorgeous. I mus say that my living room is not very large (about 25sqm), but I certainly didn't miss a subwoofer.
Now with the Eclipse's SoundCenter still paired to BL6000 the experience is completely different and when I compare it to my other Eclipse with BL18s in my country home, it's a world apart.
My recommendation is that you first try it with just a pair (or two pairs if you are going for a surround setup) of BL6000/8000/3s and then decide if you need more bass. Since you've enjoying your BV alone until now, maybe the new setup will be more than satisfying without the need to go for another extra cost.
Good luck!

I agree!

The 9’s definitely don’t need a subwoofer!!!
I think I will listen to you, it seems like a good idea. Thank you.
I will take it into account if I find one that falls within the budget. Thank you!
