Hi,
I want use Beomaster 4000 as a preamp for two monoblock tube power amp. Is it possible to take out signal from preamp section before amp ( line out ) ?? I have schema but I'm to stupid for it
BeO is like a good wine - the older the better...
Are you wanting to do that because you don't have access to a proper, stand alone preamp? The Beomaster 4000 unit is all you have? Or are you wanting to do it because you think the BM4000 has a good preamp and would make a good preamplifier for your system. It seems like a lot of trouble to tear up a Beomaster 4000 to have it do something it wasn't intended for. B&O didn't break out the preamplifier outs the way some other brands did. While it should be possible to do the surgery to make that happen I think you would be ruining a classic B&O receiver to do so. I would look for dedicated preamplifier instead.

I want to do this because I don't have a good preamp right now. I need some more money and time to get it. I can have a Beomaster 4000 for free with which my Beogram will play well. The question is:
is it possible ??
It is possible but I wouldn't want to venture into how to do it. If I was looking for a place to start it would be after the tone control section. Somewhere around the Lo and Hi filters. B&O did not provide a convenient place to do that. Another, but slightly clunky, option is to connect Beomaster 4000 record out signal to a tape deck then run the tape playback to the power amplifiers. You would not have tone controls but you could use the record/playback volume control on the tape deck to manage the music volume. As I said, kind of clunky but you would have sound.
Maybe a better way would be to get a small equalizer unit and run the Beomaster 4000 tape record out signal to the equalizer input. Then run the equalizer output to the power amplifier. The equalizer would then become your tone controls and volume control.
I'm just not a fan of breaking into the main Beomaster 4000 board to add wiring and cut traces to break out the preamplifier stage audio signal. You would also have to use good shielded cable to route the audio out of the Beomaster over to your power amplifier.
