Hi,
I'd be grateful if anyone could suggested a good way of connecting my equipment together, I assume it will mean buying some more kit to do efficiently.
I have recently acquired a pair of beolab 8000s which are currently just connected to an iPad via an auxiliary cable into the line in sockets. Before, I was using a technics amplifier attached to some bookshelf speakers. I have a Beogram 1800 which was plugged into the technics amp (which has a built in pre-amp) but I've not yet connected it to the beolab 8000s.
My technics amp has line out sockets, does anyone know if these are likely to be 'before or after' the volume control on the amp? I assume there's no other way of controlling the volume from the beolabs?
Ideally I'd like a better solution which would allow me to play both records and streamed music through the speakers, could anyone suggest what kit I would need to do this most easily?
Thanks very much your help, much appreciated.

Laptop connected with a usb connector. I would connect the Beolap to the speaker terminalt on the amp.

If the line-outs are for a pre-amp out, the volume control will work. If they are line outs for a tape deck, the volume control will not work.
Oh, and you could run the iPad into an AUX in on the technics and that will allow the Technics to be the control center for everything.
Steve from Sounds Heavenly sells a speaker to line in adaptor - this would take the output from your technics and feed the Beolab 8000's. Your turntable would plug into the technics amp as before. This would be a really cheap elegant solution. I bought one from him for another project and it works incredibly well with no background noise.
