Trouble removing Essence remote to change battery

I have an Essence remote mounted on a desktop plate. I can’t seem to “pull off” the remote from the wall plate in order to change the batteries.

Any advice?

You have to slide it off the back plate

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

To build on Fansastic’s answer, if the Essence is sitting on the table so you can read the “bang & olufsen”, slide it away from you toward the twelve o’clock position.
