Hi there Beoworld.

I'm currently looking at a pair of used beolab 5's (4 years old) with the software 2.61a.

Does anyone know, if there is a big difference between 2.61a and 3.10a?

I can't seem to find anywhere where the different softwares are explained :)

No sound or functional improvements in  SW 3.00a / 3.10a /3.20a (compared to 2.61a)

- Just necessary cause of production / design changes / hardware layout
(some parts are not any longer available from supplierers)

- Re-design to reduce power consumption in standby - to fulfill EU regulations

SW 3,xx NOT to be used on older models (series 1.xx and 2,xx)

Okay, that sounds great.

As long as it doesn't affect the sound quality :)

I was wondering if the software limitation above still applies? I recently acquired information from a B&O dealership regarding an update from sw1.6 and the answer was they could be updated to the most recent sw.

Regards!

Is it possible to downgrade?

Of if its possible to upgrade, does anyone know how to do it in the service tool?

Why would you want to downgrade?
