I have just bought myself a cosmetically beautiful, but functionally probelatic Beocenter 7007 off eBay. Radio works fine, turntable turns but no cartridge. One of the big source selected LEDs is misbehaving and the Cassette definately needs some attention. I have sort of fixed the aluminium panel lid: the mechanism was full of pine needles from a christmas tree.

I have a problem as I think I have removed the right screws to open up the unit but it won't open. I have removed the three allen head screws and the bar at the front. I have removed the 4 screws shown in the photograph but it does not want to open and I am not sure if I've missed a screw or the hinges are seized. Would be good to know before I apply more force.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Usually they print a overview of the screws on the bottom plate.

Put the front back on.

Remove two screws under the large alu lid.

Many thanks to you both. Hadn't had the courage to turn it upside down yet.

Looks like there is also a screw under the turntable. Here is the diagram on the underside if anyone is interested.
