Now that LG is making oleds in 48. Do you think that we will get an updated Horizon?
I also have been waiting for that. I think it is just a matter of when.
..
I hope they do, because even though I gave up on my previous Horizon I really like the design. So a 48 Horizon with oled really might get me back into B&O.

You must have missed it, but a prominent UK dealer told me that B&O had prioritised a Horizon refresh as their top priority, aiming for September/October, so it could be very likely you'll see an updated panel soon.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
I don't think that's going to happen
Chris Townsend:Imagine if it got OLED, and a built in Stage fitted.
Then it would be 2x as expensive! And require a complete new remodelling, redesign and months of factory tooling for a complete new model? Do people think things through?
My assumption would be a relatively straightforward panel update.
I would be quite happy with a simple panel switch. Oled picture and LG operating system.
I would sell my organs on the black market for this. i have been completely in love with the Horizon from day 1. I would love to own one. I would pay ridiculous amounts of money for it.
But not with an old LCD and 3rd-rate audio.

* Yes, really! 🤦♂️
Maybe an Lg oled 48 with the Beosound stage on a nice stand is as close to a Horizon upgrade as we are going to get.

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !
I’m with laseralex and fantastic, this would surely be a hot product. I have no idea what the margins are like for B&O on something like this but it’s got a lot of appeal for people that simply don’t want or have the space for a 55 inch + TV.
The icing on the cake would be to bring back some Bang and Olufsen UX simplicity/magic to webOS, but appreciate that’s very unlikely to happen, and I guess even if B&O had the appetite to develop this, their hands will always be tied for as long as they’re a junior partner to a business that views their proposition as much as a threat as it is a sales opportunity.
I think the biggest concern on a Horizon v2 is the timing isn’t great given the likely prolonged global recession we’re entering, the target market for such a product is likely to take a hit in terms of income and mid term prospects.
I have been told that a floorstand for the Stage and Lg oled will be introduced later this week.

Do you mean something different than what stbbrackets already makes:

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Yes from B&O
I think that's a yes!
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
In that case I suppose, that it will be a bit different ;-)
Millemissen: In that case I suppose, that it will be a bit different ;-)
I hope it's sufficiently different from a "interchangeable panel Eclipse". Or maybe it's the same and he's getting confused.
And why is in the Horizon thread?
I asked a dealer about an updated Horizon wich I would have loved. He told me that no such thing is coming in the near future but instead pointed me towards the Lg and Stage solution and said that a new stand not very different from the Horizon stand is on its way. Supposedly it is a fixed stand not moveable but with cable management and the base is not round but has a shape reflecting the beosound Stage.
That sounds somewhat more likely....and with wheels underneath ;-))

Depends what you call an 'update'. The big UK dealer I spoke with said it's just a panel refresh. Same design etc. ie. a very subtle update.

That looks cool with the Stage design!

That's decent. If I ever take the GX off the wall, I'd use that. What's the retail price, anyone know?
Good spot Emil!
It looks very good, and so much more refined than the rehash of old ideas that STB brackets churn out.
Too bad on the lack of an updated Horizon coming down the tracks. Here’s hoping for a beefed up Stage that can be integrated into a wider Beolab based set up, feels like that should be the natural next step.
There is a Horizon refresh in October.

To be fair I think STB offer some very good solutions and the workmanship and quality is high end. I am often put off by the pricing though personally. If it were cheaper I probably would have bought more over the years.
That sounds great, wil it get an oled panel?
Personally I am hoping it will because then it will be a consideration for me for a new tv. The dealer I spoke to didn’t want to reveal too much, which I fully understand. He was just advising me to wait until October for the new model before making a large tv/sound bar purchase. I told him I will, so that’s all I know I am afraid. I would be very surprised (and disappointed) if it didn’t I must admit, and I wouldn’t buy it in this case.

It's very interesting news.
Nothing lasts for ever, and I've had 8 very happy years with my V1-40 - BUT - sooner or later electronics in things like TV's can die and something like an updated Horizon, with an OLED panel, dolby vision and HDR 10 + and hopefully an updated speaker system would be an excellent TV - approaching a true replacement for the V1 at hopefully sensible money.
The Eclipse is magnificent - but I'd rather spend serious money on speakers than a TV whose lifetime is quite limited as the technology and specifications change so rapidly.
Certainly making that decision when I bought the V1-40 allowed me to purchase the Beolab 9's - which hopefully will well outlast the TV in terms of tech and as a foundation for the system.
Cheers and thanks. :-)
LG panels dont support HDR 10+, so I wouldn't expect support for it, given B&O use LG panels.
Not that I think it matters, as HDR 10+ is clearly dying out, and from a weak starting point too.

Bit confused. I told everyone a Horizon update was coming in Q4 back in May :)
Yes, the plan is a basic upgrade. I was told it's likely to be a panel update with the existing design.

It seems they will need to slash price or significantly upgrade audio if they want more than a small handful of sales.
Beovision Horizon: $6,250 USD
Beosound Stage plus LG 48" CX: $3,200 USD
So for roughly half the price you get (presumably) the same panel, but 10x the audio power.
I really love the design of the Horizon and would pay a premium to get it versus a Stage and separate OLED. But I cant see paying 2x more to get 1/10 the audio.
