Masterlink problem/question

For years I have had a Beovision 7, Beovision 10, Beolink Active, Beosound 3000 and Beosound 5 connected. All have worked perfectly except for when switching from N. Radio to N. Music the Beosound 5 would not respond unless I pressed N. Music followed by GO. The BS 3000 was the Audio Master. Today I disconnected the BS 3000 from the system, set the BS 5 to Audio Master and Option 0. I disconnected all products from power and reconnected. The Beosound 5 now does not work. I am sure I am missing something very simple. Any suggestions?

The way you describe the use of BS5 together BS3000 is correct, List N.Music then GO:

The other issue. Switch off all system. Then connect power. Do not connect power to BM5.
When all up and running, the connect power to BM5/BS5.
If not working try option 2-1 (BS5 in option 1):
When setting BS5 in option 0 or 1, make sure the option is saved properly.
I have had the same issue. Audio master and option 0 was not saved properly.
Further make sure that BM5/BS5 is listed correct in connection in BV7.

Perhaps the BV7 setting does not exist on North American products?

If the BV7 Setiting is correct, you can test using the PC command..
Check in BS5 setting, that below parameters are correct:

As the BS5 is now Audio Master: Radio= N.Radio, CD= CD- Ripper, N.Music = A.Mem 
After changing from Slave to Master the N.radio and N.Music command is no longer active as
commands.

For setting up the BV7 for North America, See page US-Manual for BV7 from page 11 to page 16.
PC is Beomaster5(Beosound5) AV5 to be used.
Remember also to connect the Digital Output on BM5 to the Digital input on AV5:
This gives better soundoutput on BV7 speakers.

I simply have the BS5/BM5 connected by Masterlink. I use it in three different rooms, one with BV7, one with BV10, both with connected speakers, and one with an Active Kit.

Without the BS3000 connected to ML, BS5 works flawlessly in all rooms. N. Music starts N. Music, N. Radio starts N. Radio, with BS5 set to Audio Master. Initial problem I was having was due to N Radio having been assigned to Radio so I was pushing the wrong button on the remote. Once I reassigned N. Radio to N. Radio all worked fine.

With the BS3000 connected and set as Audio Master, BS5 Audio Master Off, again all works fine, except for switching from N. Radio to N. Music which requires the GO command that you indicate is normal. No GO command is required for N. Music if system is in stand by, tv is on, or CD is playing.

Without the BS3000 connected and BS5 as Audio Master, the GO command is never needed.
