Hi there
I am in the process of refurbishing an old BeoCenter 8000, and so far everything works great.
I have changed the belts on the tape and re-glued the glass, pretty common issues I guess.
Tape and CD works OK, haven't been able to test the tuner yet.
Anyway... I may have an issue with the range of my IR, with my Bellink 1000 the range is about 2-3 meters, and with two different Bro4 remotes, the range is 3-4 meters... and this is with me point directly at the IR "eye" on the BeoCenter.
On the Beo4 remote I have tried to adjust the signal strength, which didn't seem to make much difference.
I would imagine that the range should be about 6-10 meters? So since I have been testing with three different remotes I guess the fault is at the BeoCenter ?
Does anyone have any suggestions on what can cause this? I have been looking at the service manual and it does not state any apparent suggestions about this... there are some tests that can be done, and I guess I might do those tests with my scope...
But if this is a known issue, it would be great to hear about it... I'm of cause hoping this might be causes by a bad cap. or something similar ;-)
Any help would be great!
