Good day to you all

Well I thought I would post a new thread about the Eclipse which I got yesterday.

My thoughts are that this TV is amazing.

I will factory restore it at the weekend so I can start all settings from scratch to make sure its setup as standard and then tweak if needed.

I have reset the sound settings and some picture settings.

The BeoLab 5 and 6000’s as rears really come alive with this setup I didn’t quite realise how different it would sound.

My feeling so far was that until I reset the sound settings that there was hardly any voice, I have sorted this temporarily.

One thing I cannot work out is if you can modify the items in the list menu to move Homecontrol up to the top as its down the bottom, on the non BT remote you can change the menu items.

I have also noticed that the homecontrol menu takes much longer to open then on the avant 55

My main real concern is that moving from Avant 55 LED to Eclipse 65 is that the picture is hurting my eyes, i think because it is so bright and i have noticed its mainly when there is sunshine scenes on the program as the white is sooo bright, I hope I can resolve this by factory restore and starting again.

A question I have if anyone knows if you can connect a SKY satellite into the SAT input on the TV to give freesat as the Apps on the TV don’t work like the Apple TV giving live TV and I suppose I should add an Ariel.

also if the SAT dish connection will give UHD signal.

Sean

You cannot change the menu in the BR1. The OLED is so bright, I’ve the contrast to 75, any higher it hurts my eyes Big Smile

Regarding external SAT / TV inputs I cannot help you, I use the CI+ module in the TV.

Enjoy the Eclipse, it is a great TV

I always put it in ISF dark (Or something similar dont remember right now if that is what it is called on the Eclipse)

When you put it in these modes, the picture is much more correct,

And it will be much better for your eyes.

It can seem dim compared to the standard setting, but the standard setting is really far from correct picture.

Hello all

I can confirm if you connect a SKY dish freesat works lovely and you can filter the guide by HD channels which is nice.

As for the picture I am getting used to it after a few days but I am indeed changing the setting when i feel its too bright, I tried ECO picture rather than smart picture option and it helps a bit also.

Thanks again

It appears you self-installed. Alone? How’d that process go?

Currently: BeoLab 17, BeoLab 18, BeoSound Core, Beosound Level, Beosound A1 2nd Gen, BeoPlay S8 Connection Hub, Halo, Essence Remote

Previously: BeoSound 1 non-GVA

Hello there

I didn’t install the TV that was mainly done by Matt and Lee from eBay after many many questions on my part.

They turned up, removed avant and moment and installed the TV.

Some of my cables were too short so I might need a new one or two which i will workout this weekend.

So they did the main install and heavy lifting and I am doing the tide up.

I do however have the YouTube video of how to install an Eclipse from scratch but to be honest didn’t fancy it when I don’t have too lol.

Seanie You did a good job. Everything nicely concealed. That's how I like to see it.
