Hi All,
I’ve managed to repair and rescue one woofer from an S45 (6427) pair left to me by my father, but the other one is totally beyond repair. Does anyone have any recommendations on a suitable woofer to replace it as can’t find any originals for love nor money ! Or am I better to match two new woofers as close to the specification. it’s on a Beocenter 5000 which is fine part from the cassette player which seems to be frozen which I need to fix also...
Thanks ! Neil.
Not sure if these are still in limbo, but you could ask:

From experience I would wait and get an original or see if the one you have can be repaired - they can be reconed and if the magnet has come lose that can also be fixed.
I tried an aftermarket woofer in one once and it never sounded as good as the other one and wish I had just put them to one side and waited for a suitable spare - albeit a very long wait would have ensued.
It was taken out at some point I guess by my Dad and only thing left is the metal speaker housing and magnets , nothing else ...
Ahh.....pretty terminal then ;¬)
Thanks , may just buy a cheap woofer just to get the speaker working and then be patient as you say...
I think I got one on Amazon for about £20 - it'll do as an interim and you can always keep it as as a spare
