Hi All,

just working on my BG4000 which behaves erratically - if the carriage moves to the 30cm drop-down point the arm won't lower ?

reading through the technical information at the end of the SM it mentioned minor changes to the BL and DR circuit because of i troduction of a new bulb for the detector arm and suggested changing

1R30 from 15 to 22 ohm and also remove the 50kOhm trimmer mounted on the solder side of board #1

from which serial number should those measures be implemented ?

thank you for some info on that matter

Thanks for your reminder Craig, indeed I have these notes !

in the meantime I followed the faultfinding SM flowchart....and it was the solenoid switch that needed to attention.

after some fine-sanding of the top contact the arm lowers again.

only wish I could take all of those contact springs out and gold-plate them !
