Dear All,

I have inherit the above complete with a pair of Beovox S45 on stands. The foam surrounds have failed although  I have the kits to re foam both. Beocenter 2002 has two problems; 1. The belt to the cassette deck has failed -  should be easy to fix 2. The turntable has a nasty wobble - any ideas how to over come this. Or should I just be satisfied with my CDX, Beocenter 2100 & Beogram 6000 with MMC 20EN cartridge? The Beocenter is fitted with a MMC 20S cartridge.

1. Belts for Beocenter 2000/2002 tape and turntable here:
https://www.beoparts-shop.com/product-category/beocenter/beocenter-2002/

2. Wobble? Is the platter or subplatter distorted, moving up and down? Or is the rotational speed uneven (belt slipping)?

Thank you for the link to the spares shop.

The whole unit has been stored  covered in a dry garage for a number of years with the transit screws turned down to prevent  the whole deck from bouncing around. Having now given the 2002 a thorough clean it does look stunning. With regard to the turntable, when I tried to play a record the deck vibrated so violently that I had to prevent the tone arm from bouncing across the record. It would appear to do this at both 33 & 45 rpm.

I did run the turntable without the plater - the belt does not seem to move.

I hope my description is of some use.

Is there a damping system that requires greasing?

Regards,

Julian
