I have just moved into a new home and the Beoplay V1 was part of the trip. It was perfectly packed in a wooden box during the trip.

Problem : I just switched it on, it was working normally. But after a couple minute smoke was going off the TV cabinet (left side when you watch the screen).

It was a black smoke of burned plastic.

I immediately unplugged it and now I have no idea of what to do ?

OK.... I can see that there is a rubber layer that is unscrewed...

How can I open the cabinet ?

I think the screws are hidden behind the removable cable cover at the back. But not all of them need be removed. Until you get better informed advice here, leave it unplugged and go carefully.

Thank you, there are 6 screws behind the removable cable cover. I have tried removing them but nothing move and I do not want to pull hard as I am unsure.

Thank you. Yes there are 6 screws behind the cable cover at the back. I have tried removing them but nothing moves... I do not want to force as I am unsure. If someone know where to pull it would help me a lot.

Have you removed the stand? If not, you’ll need to lay the TV face-down on a soft, supportive non-scratch surface. Then remove the stand at the top and bottom of the TV.

My recollection is you then remove some of the screws and the TV should open like a clamshell at the hinges. So sorry I can’t remember which screws, or whether it opens at top or bottom. Hopefully someone knowledgeable will be along soon.

Hello the stand has been removed and the 6 screw behind.

I just don't know where to pull to open the TV.

Remove the screws and the stand from the tv, twist it and then push in the top of the stand back, so the tv will not come apart. When the tv is on it’s face, open it like the suitcase - lid up - bottom of the tv. Check the ice amp as they like to burn sometimes - between the speakers.

I've seen that the amps in V1, Beolab 4 (mainly), and Beolab 4000 mk2 seemingly burns out sometimes. As far as I know they all share the same ice amp or at least similar designs.

Is this a common issue with this certain design or also with other ice amps used in bigger Beolab speakers?

I managed to open the tv.

Screw at the back + removing the 4 screw at the angle + pull out the tube at the bottom

Then it opens like a clam shell.

As I wasn't sure I will send it for service tomorrow.
