Hi everyone.

I am completely new here - so don’t shoot me, if my questions are in the wrong place

I just bought a Beocenter 1600 with Beovox s35 speakers... and I have no idea how to connect them to the system. Do I need an amplifier or can they be connected directly into the speaker outs?

If you have an answer for me, please address me as someone who knows absolutely nothing in this field. ;-)

Regards Morten, Denmark

Welcome.
They connect directly to the speaker outputs.

Thank you for a quick response

Any chance you can explain how to connect them correctly?

Left speaker to the left socket (one of the left sockets if your Beocenter has sockets for two pairs of speakers).
Right speaker likewise.

If everything is original and unchanged you cannot do it wrong.

My center does have outputs for 2 speakers each side.

My speakers wires does not have a plugs - do I just plug in the “naked” (unisollated) wire in the outputs? And what is the small hole by the outputs for? (It kinda has the shape for a flat screwdriver)

(Ahh.  They have never seen 2-pin DIN plugs before.)  Here is a link to what you need:

https://soundsheavenly.com/beovox-passive-unpowered-loudspeakers/74-2-pin-din-plugs-sold-as-a-pair.html

Just wire the same speaker terminal (+/-, red/black, whatever) to the same screw/pin in the connector, on both speakers.

... and by the way - each speaker wire kind of divides into two wires...

Do I connect them together or separately somehow?

OK, I should have been more specific:

"Just connect each of the two wires with the same speaker terminal (+/-, red/black, whatever) to the same screw/pin in the 2-pin connector, using one connector for each speaker."  (Clear speaker cables will often have one wire silver-colored and the other brass-colored, so you can distinguish them at the other end.  Opaque speaker cables will often have one side of the insulator smooth and the other side with raised lines, dashes, or dots.)
