Hello,
this is my first post in the forum so i should introduce myself first before asking dumb questions ;-)
I'm Christian, 52, from Germany and one of my hobbies is to bring old audio equipment back to life. I learned radio and tv technician 35 years ago and then worked in that profession for several years before i changed to the IT industry. You have to earn money, that works better in IT than with repairing radios. After the children left home I started to repair old hifi equipment again. Just for fun, for myself and without any financial interests.
Currently i'm working on a Beomaster 1000 2317 which came to me in a horrible condition. Bottom Plate is missing, wooden case cracked into 3 pieces, tuner and amp did not work at all.
So i fixed 2 cracks in the pcb, rectifier in power supply, Stereo indicator (driver AC153 was bad), changed all electrolytics, nearly all of them measured out of range, and did a general cleaning and allignment.
What should i say the beast is back to live ... with one exception - The Power Switch
In general it is OK but i have no clue how to mount it. When i start working on the Beomaster i found the switch loose with a little spring attached and next to it i found a piece of broken plastic, that seems to be the "Screen for Power Switch" . But i don't know how that fits together.
Can someone please advise how this should work or send me a picture that shows the switch assembled?
I do not dare to ask if someone would sell me this spare part. Probably nobody has such a part in his drawer anymore. But I would be happy about photos and measurements to reproduce the part by 3d printing. Or maybe there is already someone who replaced the part with a 3d repro?
I will be more than happy for any assistance
Many thanks
Cheers
Christian
Hi Christian and welcome to the forum!
I have no idea where that white piece of plastic comes from. The only white plastic I see in my BM1000 is item 37 in the service manual, the "dial rear wall" that reflects the light of the light bulbs that illuminate the frequency indicator.
Item 253 labelled as "screen for on/off switch" is actually just a piece of insulating shield between the 250V switch and the transformer. Here you can see the item and its mounting position:
As far as I can tell, the PCB that holds the 250V mains switch and the speaker switch, which is part of the on/off switch, is broken. You'll have to mechanically reattach the 250V section. This is how it looks normally:
To get to that pushbutton switch assembley you'll have to remove the side wall, loosen the screws of that switch assembly and desolder all the wires attached to it and remove the top PCB of that assembly.
Once the on/off switch is fixed you just need to mount the spring and it's gonna be as good as new. Just takes one or two hours if your skilled with that kin of work . Here's the picture of the spring mounted, first with mains off and then with mains on.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

The white screen looks broken. Are there more fragments of it somewhere inside the Beomaster?Still, it doesn't look exactly like thishttps://beoparts.com/2016/12/21/beomaster-1000-screen-for-power-switch-3302060/
- perhaps a small variation, of which the Beomaster 1000 has hundreds.

Hi Manfy and Martin,
many thanks for your reply. Especially for the provided fotos. it looks like the switch is only clamped between transformer and switch unit and fixed with glue. I do not think this is a good solution, well it is as it is.
I get rid of the broken plastic thing what looks like the rest of the isolation shield and took a piece of pcb board without copper to isolate the switch from the transformer.
It seems to work.
Next will be work on the cabinet ....
Many thanks for your help!!!
