Hi all,

Im new in this forum which Ive been reading a lot in the past. I have an issue that Im not capable to find a solution, so hope you can help me.

Current configuration:

  • Beolab 8000mkI speakers connected via cable (link) to BO Essence
  • Beosound Essence mk2
  • Beoplay A9 mk3
  • Beosound Essence remote connected to Beosound Essence.

Im able to stream music to the three speakers by using Airplay. All good until here.

However, I would like to use the remote for streaming the music to the three speakers. At this stage, I can only streaming the music to the B8000 thru the BO Essence. however Im not finding the right configuration for directly streaming the music to the three using just the remote essence.

Appreciate your help and comments.

Best regards

Nacho

'When you use the Essence remote one of the sources in the Essence MK2 is started. You need to join the A9 to the session by tap to join (not sure if A9 can do this) or through the B&O app.

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

Thanks for your answer, but the question is how/where do I tap to join the session? or within the app?

Sorry for the simple questions, but I can't find the way.

Thanks again

In the app make sure the Eseemce is playing something as main source and then go to multiroom (second button with the two squares) and press the a9 to join

Thanks - I got it. I didnt enabled the Beolink function in the app.

Now I did it, put the music in the B8000 and add the A9 to the multiroom. However no sound coming thru the A9.

Same situation if I start first the A9 (music works) then joining the Beoessence but then no sound coming up thru the B8000.

Any hint or idea what could be the problem?

Thanks

In the same menu where you have enabled ‘Join’, you must choose, which products should be linked to each other.

Are you still using AirPlay against one and try to join the other ? If yes you need to enable AirPlay over Beolink

Unfortunately, it does not work with the B&O app yet.

Currently, Im able to make it work just using ApplePlay2 from an iphone using Spotify.

However, Trying to use the B&O app and using the multiroom feature doesnt work. I selected Beoessence as lead speaker and then add the A9. However sound only plays in the B8000

Any idea from a configuration or whats the problem?

@jfresco

Just to clarify:

Multiroom via Airplay2 and multiroom via (B&O) NetworkLink are to different technologies, two different ways of soing things.

Please answer the question, that mbolo01 asked above....if you have activated Airplay over Beolink.

1. Open your B&O App

2. Click on Beoplay A9

3. Click on Product Settings

4. Click on Configure

5. Click on Settings

6. Click on BEOLINK

7.Click on Sound Synchronization

8. Make sure Enable multiform for AirPlay is checked

9. Make sure the Link to other products in BEOLINK shows your Essence

10. So the same for each product you want to set up this way....

You should now be able to join and play from any speaker.

I have 2 Cores connected to a pair of Essence Remotes as well as a 100% dedicated iPhone I use as a Beoplay Remote (with the App). I currently have a B&O speaker system in every room and it works well. However, when I use AirPlay, I find it easier to just use the AirPlay UX from the iPhone or iPad. It is just easier but B&O does a good job ensuring the multiple speakers are in sync. I mainly use the App for multi room play and linking when I am using TuneIn radio. For Apple Music I always just use AirPlay.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)
  • Beoplay A9 Mk2 (Living Room)
  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

Apologies for not answering you directly. Im not use to the B&O app and all the conf.settings.

I have enabled in both (essence and a9) the Airplay and the beolink connected to each (below pictures from each)

Im able to play the sound in both speakers (B8000 and A9) by using Airplay directly.

However, it does not work when using the B&O app. Both looks connected to the multiroom but the sound only comes from the one leading.

Ultimately, the goal is when using the remote the sound goes directly to both B8000 pair and A9.

Hope below pictures helps. Thanks again for all the support and comments, it really helps

Did you try to reboot both devices after you made the setting.

Just disconnect from the mains a minute or two.

Thanks a lot !!

Finally with the reboot of both things started to work !!

Thanks a lot for the support - Highly appreciate it !

Now last mile on this....Can I turn on the music with the essense remote and playing directly in multiroom configuration? It means I press the remote and the sound goes to both B8000 and A9.

This one didnt work out. Remote only enable the sound on the B8000. So I need to pass thru the app to make the multiroom which is not very friendly once you have the great BO remote.

Thanks again
