I have an old Mk1 Beocom 6000 set with 5 handsets. This has worked well for years but recently one handset refused to link with the base despite a new battery and lots of turning off and re-booting etc.

I bought a used handset on ebay (dangerous?) from Denmark. It is a Mk2 and it too will not pair.

Is it a lost cause or should I do something different?

Many thanks

Hi and welcome to Beoworld!

You will probably find that the base station has reached the limit of phones that can be registered.

Go into the setup menu on one of the working handsets, and one of the options will be to delete handsets.  Delete the handset that is no longer working, and then you should be able to register/pair the 'new' handset.

A Danish handset should register fine to a UK base: I have a mixture of Danish, German, Dutch and UK handsets and they all work fine together!!

EDIT:

To get to the required menu:

Press DOT then MENU

Press 7 to display the HANDSET/BASE menu.

Use the wheel to get to REMOVE HANDSET, and press the centre button.

Use the wheel to find the handset that you want to delete, and again press the centre button.
