Well I got the 3400 turntable in perfect condition, seriously , it looked brand new . I hooked it up to my vintage tube pre-amp and hit play. The arm goes over to the record but is to low and hits side. I have to manually put on record. It does sound amazing in my system. What do I do to get the arm to cue up on record. One other thing is I have to fiddle with the RCA inputs as some times when I start it has very loud hum. I mess with them in the back of the preamp, then it is crystal clear. Should I modify and put better cables cables in or leave original. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Did you run an extra grounding wire?Keep in mind that most turntables have two ground leads, that mustn't be confused, left out or shorted. One signal ground - center pin in the original DIN plug and the outer connection in RCA.One chassis ground - outer metal shield in the original DIN plug and .... nowhere in RCA so will have to be run separately.
The original DIN plug is genious. Easy to connect and fool-proof.Nothing can be left out or connected wrong by mistake.
