Hi everyone,
I am the owner of a Beosound 9000 mkIII (connected to a transceiver and Beolab 18) for several months without encountering any issue, but yesterday I moved it delicately; since then I have the following PB:
- I am not able to use anymore the command panel (nothing happens if I push any button)
- I can only switch on (nothing else) the Beosound 9000 with the Beolab 4
- I can switch between cd's by using the buttons (corresponding to each cd) on the right side of the Beosound 9000.
- I can switch on/off the device by pushing the right button located on the bottom right of the Beosound 9000
Is there anything I can do (already unplugged it from 220V during several minutes): reset factory?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Stephane
Is it possible that the control panel is not fully seated? If you're new to the BS9000, you may not know that the control panel can be removed and re-oriented to follow the re-orientation of the unit (basically, it can be turned upside down for situations where the unit is mounted upside down). Anyway, perhaps when you moved it, the control panel slipped away from the backing connections. I'd remove it, clean the contacts with a clean, lint free towel, and replace it being careful that it snaps into place. I believe it is held in place with magnets (so there is nothing to break by removing it).
Thanks Stan, I have already followed your advices and nothing has changed, moreover I have the same kind of behavior with the remote command (I can just power it up).
Sorry, I have nothing to add here. Find a way to get it serviced... or, as a final last effort, unplug it from any MasterLink cables and unplug it from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug it back into the wall. Maybe it's confused, and needs a restart... (this is doubtful to work, but if it is connected to masterlink sometimes devices will behave oddly if multiple devices decide they are in charge).
