Hi, I bought a pair of used Beolab 8000 Mk 1 from 2002 in may 2020. Until now, I only used them for stereo music while being connected to the pre outs of my Yamaha AVR. Having just bought a Beolab 7-1 center speaker and some surround speakers, I began to watch TV and movies while using the 8000s as front speakers. The problem is, that one of the two speakers (I changed them and the problem remained with the same speaker, so it is a problem inside) switches off at low volume passages and only switches back on when a loud signal arrives. I read a lot of articles here where many people talk about the old foam witch causes corrosion but the problem I have never appeared like this. When turning the Output on my AVR on Stereo the speaker turns on again after a few seconds but it`s not sensitive for quite passages in surround mode where i.e. only a light music is played on the fronts because the center gets a deep dialogue. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? (It also switched off while hearing louder music two times in the last weeks and the green light only came back after manually plugging out the mains cable and replugging it back in.)
I am thankful for any help!
